Egis Lagan Services is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer for its depot at Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

We are seeking a dynamic engineering professional to join our team in the delivery of the Motorway Maintenance and Renewals Contract on behalf of our client Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). The candidate will be level 7 qualified in a civil/construction engineering related discipline with experience in a variety of site-based roles.

Job Title:

Maintenance Engineer

  1. JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Program, undertake and report on safety patrols and detailed inspections.
  • Manage inspections and maintenance of structures.
  • Costing and administrating minor road works projects.
  • Manage the computerised maintenance management system, RMMS and other software packages.
  • Identify defects and ensure they are repaired in accordance with the contract specifications.
  • Manage and supervise subcontractor works and material deliveries to site.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, An Gardaí Siochana, subcontractors, and public/client agents.
  • Undertake winter maintenance duties and attend emergency call outs.
  • Monitor and implement health and safety policies and procedures at site level.
  • Implement Quality Control Systems on Site.
  • Manage cyclical and routine operations.
  • Attend and contribute to company audits.
  • Prepare traffic management plans for certification / approval of the client.
  • Preparation of monthly operations reports.
  • Recording keeping.
  • Other duties as directed.

Experience/
Knowledge

  • Relevant experience with a background in Motorway/Road construction/maintenance.
  • Experience in the preparation of work status reports.
  • Experience in all stages of work tenders.
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance processes and bridge construction/maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with computerised maintenance packages.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
